You can either head home after dark or settle in at your campsite for the night. It costs $5 for adults to enter the park. Children 12 and under are free. more Cattleman's Steakhouse at Indian Cliffs Ranch Do you have dinner reservations? Arrive early and enjoy a breathtaking sunset as it paints the sky around the open grounds of the ranch. If you get close to one of the ponds, you can get pictures of the sunset reflecting off the water. The views here are panoramic, so find your favorite location and relax. Once the sun goes down, head inside and enjoy your meal. Woodrow Bean Transmountain Road One of the prettiest places to watch the sunset is on the northeast side of Woodrow Bean Transmountain road. You'll find several picnic tables where you can get out of the car and relax as the sun sinks in the sky. The road is part of the Franklin Mountains State Park, and you'll be able to see unobstructed views of the entire area. It’s an excellent location for photographers, but bring either a monopod or tripod to make sure you get a good hold in the ground before the sunset. Scenic Drive Take a drive along Rim Road for some of the best views of the city. This road is also known as Scenic Drive. As it rises out of the city, you'll find several locations to watch the sunset. You can see two cities bask in the changing colors on a clear day. The height of the road allows you views of both El Paso and Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. Stay alert after taking in the natural beauty as you make your way back down the winding mountain road. Hueco Tanks State Historic Site The Hueco Tanks State Historic Site is a day-use park, but there are also 20 campsites in the park. Access to the park is restricted to either guided or self-guided tours. There are only 70 self-guided tours allowed at a time. The park has several areas for watching the sunset before it closes for the day. Don't forget your camera and a light jacket before you leave to watch the sunset. Bring a tripod if you have one to capture steady images of the sun as it sinks behind the horizon - arrive early enough to find the best angle for your image. They’re a great way to get out and explore the city throughout the spring. Star City Tattoo and Arts Festival If you enjoy tattoos or are looking to learn more about them, check out the 2020 Star City Tattoo and Arts Festival. This indoor event starts Friday, March 20 at the El Paso Convention Center. more Single-day tickets are $20, and if you’d like to enjoy the weekend, it’s $45 for anyone over 12 years old, while children 12 and under are free! The event features over 150 tattoo artists from around the country. As part of the festival, you can watch several different competitions during the weekend. Some of the events include the best new school, best arm/leg sleeve, and best traditional tattoos. Keep in mind that to get tattooed during the festival, you have to be 18 years old. You also have to sign a release form and bring a valid form of ID with you. You do not need to make an appointment, but they are recommended. Video and still pictures are allowed, but ask permission before taking them. Siglo de Oro Drama Festival Make your way to the Chamizal National Monument and enjoy a weekend of live performances. The drama festival starts on Wednesday, April 15 and runs until Saturday, April 18. The nightly performances let fans enjoy a taste of Spanish theater. The shows focus on the Golden Age of literature in Spain. Free tickets are required for the shows and are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Keep in mind - there’s a limited amount of accessible seating available for each performance. Sun City Craft Beer Festival Invite your friends to the Convention Center for a day of fun and enjoy local craft beer. The 2020 Sun City Craft Beer Festival takes place on April 25 and 26. You'll enjoy selections from local breweries as well as national names. There are several food trucks on hand, so you can grab a bite to eat while you listen to live music and enjoy your drink. There are also several games to play and vendors to check out. If you’re interested in brewing, stop by some of the demonstrations to learn about the different techniques. This intimate venue is a great place to see who's who in the up and coming music scene of El Paso.
