2020 Acura MDX | Fox Acura of El Paso in El Paso, TXWhen you drive the 2020 Acura MDX, you’ll experience the ultimate in opulence. With a sophisticated design, spacious interior, and available hybrid model option, the MDX gives other luxury SUVs a run for their money. Take look at several features that make this crossover SUV so appealing.

Gas Engine Model

The high-performance gas engine model features a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that delivers 290 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque. There are two drivetrain options for the gas model —  front-wheel drive or Acura’s super-handling all-wheel drive (SH-AWD). Both drivetrains pair with a nine-speed automatic transmission for seamless shifting and quick acceleration. The front-wheel-drive models get an EPA-estimated 20 mpg in the city and 27 mpg when highway driving, and the SH-AWD gets just slightly less.

Hybrid MDX

The new hybrid model of the MDX has a 3.0-liter V-6 engine that mates with three electric motors to produce 321 horsepower and 289 pound-feet of torque. Paired with the hybrid engine is a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and the sport hybrid SH-AWD. The hybrid model gets about 26 mpg when city driving and 27 mpg on the highway.

Luxurious Interior

Both models can fit seven people in the three rows of seats. Leather seats come standard, as do the 12-way power-adjustable front seats. When you want to fold and slide the second-row seats, it’s a breeze, thanks to the one-touch smart slide system which allows you to do it with the touch of a button. Available upgrade options include ventilated front seats, heated rear outboard seats, a heated steering wheel, and optional second-row captain’s chairs to replace the second-row bench seat. The captain’s chairs seating configuration makes room for six people.

When all the seats up, there are 15 cubic feet of cargo space, with 38.4 cubic feet available behind the second row. With all rows of seats folded down, there are 68.4 cubic feet of cargo space.

Solid Infotainment System

Both models have an impressive infotainment system with an 8-inch upper touch screen and a 7-inch lower touch screen. Standard features include Bluetooth with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, an eight-speaker stereo, six USB ports, and Siri Eyes Free. Upgrade options include a navigation system, 10-speaker stereo, HD radio, and a rear entertainment system. The upgrade features, along with a moonroof and two extra USB ports, come standard on the hybrid MDX.

Driver-Assist Safety Features

Staying safe while driving is essential, and the Acura MDX boasts an impressive amount of driver-assist and safety features. Both models have the AcuraWatch bundle of safety aids including forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and lane departure warning. Available safety features are front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, rear-cross traffic alert, a surround-view parking camera system, and a head-up display.

With so many innovative features and technology, the MDX is a solid contender in the luxury SUV class. To take one for a test drive or learn more about the 2020 Acura MDX, schedule an appointment with Fox Acura of El Paso today!
