AcuraWatch is a safety feature that helps you better navigate and stay safe on the road. AcuraWatch is a network of sensing technologies that constantly gathers information and offers warnings if one thing is going wrong. In some situations, AcuraWatch can take action like apply the brakes if you get too close to another vehicle or object.

The AcuraWatch system includes an adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation brakes, road-departure mitigation, forward collision warning, lane keeping assist, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, and a multiview rear camera so that you can see your car from all angles.

2. AcuraLink

AcuraLink is a system that allows you to keep track of your vehicle with the touch of a button. It allows you to seamlessly connect your phone to the navigation system, sends you service reminders, and it lets you lock or unlock your vehicle from anywhere.

It also keeps you connected in case of an emergency. It monitors the performance of the car and gives you 24-hour access to live assistance. It can pinpoint your exact location and send services to where you are.

3. Automated Driving System

Acura is working on a system that would automate driving to make the roads safer, reduce gridlock, and it offer drivers the opportunity to sit back and relax. Acura has created a self-piloting RLX test car with all new radar; Lidar, which helps measures distances; more cameras, and a GPS sensor. Acura hopes to release a highly automated driving technology by 2020.

4. GPS Climate Control

Completely unique to Acura, the GPS Climate Control system uses GPS positioning and a solar sensor to detect the position of the sun and its intensity to add just the internal temperature of the vehicle. It can also detect which side of the car is getting more heat so that it adjusts the temperature accordingly. Acura has a patent on this system, and it’s available on all models.

5. Head-Up Display

The Head-Up display is a system that was inspired by fighter jet technology. The head-up display shows the driver crucial information such as speed, navigation directions, and gas level on the lower portion of your windshield. If you sync your phone to the vehicle, it will also display incoming calls, your phone book, and other information that keeps you from having to physically pick up your phone. This means you can keep your eyes on the road while still having all the vehicle and driving information that you need.

Acura is constantly working on new technologies in its Performance Manufacturing Center (PMC). The PMC is a world-class, open-plan creative workspace in Marysville, Ohio. The PMC helps engineers see every stage of the production. It allows them to better understand where they can improve the process and lets everyone feel connected to the car and to one another.
