Alan Jackson in Concert

If you’re a fan of this country music superstar who brings neo-traditional, gospel, and bluegrass influences to his tunes, be sure to grab tickets for his concert It will take place on February 21 at the Don Haskins Center. You will find the venue ‎at 500 West University Ave., on the University of Texas at El Paso campus. 

Alan Jackson has been entertaining country music fans for decades. He’s now in his sixties and he’s still going strong. With any luck, he will play the hits that fans love to hear, such as “Chattahoochee” and “Someday.”

MariachiRita Fest

If you’re fond of mariachi and margaritas, you should know that both will be featured at the MariachiRita Fest! This exciting event is on May 9, and will run from noon until eight in the evening. The festival will be held in scenic Ascarate Park at 6900 Delta Drive.

So, what happens at the festival? Well, the mariachi and margaritas we just mentioned probably provide a couple of good clues! If you attend this event, you’ll be able to spend the day listening to amazing mariachi, plus other local bands. You’ll also be able to sample your choice of 20 types of margaritas! Food trucks and restaurants will be on-site to cater to hungry guests. There will also be a Kids Zone for the little ones and fun activities including mechanical bull riding for kids of all ages.

Chalk the Block

If you appreciate art, plan to attend Chalk the Block. This art-themed festival will be held on October 9 and 10 in the El Paso Downtown Arts District. Admission is free, but do bring your creativity and imagination with you! You’ll be able to use both while you view chalk art from contestants who will be vying for first place in a sidewalk chalk art competition. Feel inspired as you check out chalk art from gifted artists, browse interactive art installations, watch live dancers, and enjoy theatrical performances!

This annual event is so much fun and you’ll be able to grab a bite when you’re feeling peckish from local food vendors. There will also be activities to participate in, along with exhibits at the Museum of History and the El Paso Museum of Art.

As you can see, El Paso’s vibrant spirit comes alive in 2020, as wonderful community festivals and events bring residents and tourists together.
