2017 Acura ILX Interior | Fox Acura of El PasoAcura prefers to use packages where other manufacturers offer trim levels, and so the different packages offered for the 2017 ILX compact luxury sedan are comprehensive. Overall, the ILX comes with four package options, including one that adds to either the Premium or Technology Plus packages and two starting packages you can choose separately.

Standard

Without any extra packages, the 2017 Acura ILX still has plenty to offer. There’s the advanced 2.4-liter I4 engine that offers 201 horsepower, the eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and the Jewel Eye full LED headlights. The ILX also comes with a smart keyless entry system, and based on which key fob opens the driver’s side the side mirrors, driver’s seat, and climate control system will all readjust to meet the preferences of the fob’s holder.

AcuraWatch Plus

AcuraWatch Plus is a simple package upgrade that adds a few driver assistance features and not much else. These systems include adaptive cruise control, a Lane Keeping Assist System, a Road Departure Mitigation System, and a Collision Mitigation Braking System. That last feature is particularly important, because if the system detects a serious chance of an accident, it will first warn the driver and then start braking automatically if the driver doesn’t or can’t react fast enough.

Premium

The Premium Package adds a lot of luxury, like perforated Milano leather, an advanced seven-speaker audio system, and an 8-inch display for the infotainment screen instead of the standard 5-inch display. The new system also gets a few extra functions, like SiriusXM Radio, HD Radio, and the Aha app. The system can also work with the AcuraLink iPhone navigation app so you can use voice commands to set up a route even without a built-in navigation system. You don’t need the AcuraWatch Plus Package to get the Premium Package.

Technology Plus

The Technology Plus Package comes with everything in the AcuraWatch Plus and Premium packages, and it adds a few new items of its own. This includes a built-in navigation system, which can receive real-time traffic updates and change your route on the fly to avoid the worst of it. It also adds GPS-linked climate control, which uses a solar sensor and the GPS signal to findĀ out how bright the sun is and what angle it’s at compared to the car. Using this information, the system directs cold air to the hottest parts of the car to even out the temperature.

A-SPEC

You can add the A-SPEC package to either the Premium or Technology Plus packages. In both cases, the package adds a few cosmetic changes like 18-inch wheels specially designed to reduce noise, a race-inspired interior, new side sills, fog lights, and an A-SPEC rear spoiler. The A-SPEC trim doesn’t make a big impact on your performance, but it does make a definite fashion statement.

With five customization options (counting the unchanged Standard option), the ILX gives luxury car shoppers a good opportunity to choose just how much they’re ready to pay for a luxury sedan and all the high-quality features that come with it.
