Star City Tattoo and Arts Festival

If you enjoy tattoos or are looking to learn more about them, check out the 2020 Star City Tattoo and Arts Festival. This indoor event starts Friday, March 20 at the El Paso Convention Center. Single-day tickets are $20, and if you’d like to enjoy the weekend, it’s $45 for anyone over 12 years old, while children 12 and under are free! The event features over 150 tattoo artists from around the country. As part of the festival, you can watch several different competitions during the weekend. Some of the events include the best new school, best arm/leg sleeve, and best traditional tattoos.

Keep in mind that to get tattooed during the festival, you have to be 18 years old. You also have to sign a release form and bring a valid form of ID with you. You do not need to make an appointment, but they are recommended. Video and still pictures are allowed, but ask permission before taking them.

Siglo de Oro Drama Festival

Make your way to the Chamizal National Monument and enjoy a weekend of live performances. The drama festival starts on Wednesday, April 15 and runs until Saturday, April 18. The nightly performances let fans enjoy a taste of Spanish theater. The shows focus on the Golden Age of literature in Spain. Free tickets are required for the shows and are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Keep in mind – there’s a limited amount of accessible seating available for each performance.

Sun City Craft Beer Festival 

Invite your friends to the Convention Center for a day of fun and enjoy local craft beer. The 2020 Sun City Craft Beer Festival takes place on April 25 and 26. You’ll enjoy selections from local breweries as well as national names. There are several food trucks on hand, so you can grab a bite to eat while you listen to live music and enjoy your drink. There are also several games to play and vendors to check out. If you’re interested in brewing, stop by some of the demonstrations to learn about the different techniques.

El Paso Lobster Festival 

The El Paso Lobster Festival is April 26-28. Tickets are required for the event. Children 8 and under are free, as well as active-duty military and veterans with ID. The festival lets you enjoy fresh Maine lobster and dancing. Check out the arts and craft booths or take a picture to remember the event! Face painting, a magic show, bounce houses, and several games are available for kids to enjoy throughout the weekend.

Before you go to any of these events, check the weather. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes – and bring your camera!
