Acura interior maintenance is just as important as washing your vehicle. It helps keep the interior dirt and dust-free, which also helps prevent allergies. In addition, a clean cabin looks and smells great. We’d like to advise you on the easy steps to clean your Acura like a pro.
Acura Interior Maintenance: Easy Steps To a Clean Cabin
Remove the Trash
The first step in cleaning the cabin is to remove everything that shouldn’t be there. Inevitably, old receipts, notes, styrofoam cups, and other debris build up in your Acura. Before you can clean, this stuff must be removed.
Take two trash bags and sort everything you collect into one bag to keep and one bag to dump. It’s an enjoyable exercise as your Acura will look cleaner already. Once everything has been removed, put the bag with items to keep aside to sort through later and dump the bag of trash.
Clean the Mats
Car mats collect dirt and other debris but are easy to clean. If you have rubber mats, you can clean them with a hose and hang them on the line to dry. If you have carpeted mats, use carpet shampoo and a soft cloth to clean them, then hang them up to air dry.
Clean and Disinfect
Microfiber cloths or dusters are the best way to clear dust from the dash and other areas. They’re soft, so they can’t scratch or damage anything, and they’re very effective for cleaning. Be sure to dust the cup holders, door panel trays, and other hard-to-reach areas.
Once the interior has been dusted, use antiseptic wipes to clean all surfaces that are regularly touched to remove any germs that remain behind. Specialized computer wipes are a safe option to wipe your screen and other electronics.
Vacuum the Interior
Your vacuum cleaner has a host of attachments that can reach into any area of your home, and they work just as effectively between the seats and other difficult-to-access cabin areas. Once the loose dust from dusting has gone, the cabin air will feel lighter and smell fresher.
Clean the Seats
If you have cloth seating, mix a high-quality upholstery cleaner with a little water and use a microfiber cloth to clean the upholstery. Be careful not to get too much water on the upholstery, as it will take longer to air dry.
If you have leather seating, use a high-quality leather cleaner and a soft cloth to bring the shine back to the leather. A leather cleaner will help keep the material supple and prevent it from drying out, which causes cracks and fading.
