Blind Spot Assist
Acura’s blind spot information system solves one of the oldest safety issues. Using radars, this system looks for vehicles where you can’t see them and then alerts you if it finds one. Whenever the blind spot assist senses a car where you can’t see it, a light on the windshield pillar comes on to warn you. Also, when you turn on your turn signal, a light flashes and a warning beep sounds to better get your attention. Blind spot assist works when you are traveling over 20 mph.
Collision Mitigation
The AcuraWatch safety suites provide proactive rather than reactive driver assisting technology. Rather than just reacting to a crash with things such as safety belts or airbags, the AcuraWatch system helps you to avoid a crash altogether.
The collision mitigation system is a step closer to automated self-driving vehicles without giving away any driving control. This system uses a camera and radar to continually scan the road ahead for any potential collision threats. If it senses that there may be a possible collision, the driver is immediately alerted with a flashing visual warning and an audible beep. And, if the driver doesn’t respond quickly enough, the car will apply its own brakes to lessen the severity of or avoid the crash completely. This system comes standard on the MDX and RLX, but it’s available for all Acura SUVs and sedans.
Jewel Eye Headlights
Good visibility is essential for safety, and Acura’s jewel eye LED headlights have been designed to give you the best visibility no matter the conditions. The headlights imitate sunlight at night to improve visibility. They are angled to light up the parts of the road that you need to see the most. And, as an added bonus, they make the Acura look pretty sharp.

When you leave your vehicle, the Acura experience doesn’t end. The AcuraLink app on your phone allows you to check on your vehicle even when you aren’t right with or in your car. The AcuraLink app will remind you when you need to schedule car maintenance. You can unlock your Acura with the app from wherever you are. If you suddenly need assistance while you are driving, you can reach for help at any time of the day. Simply choose your location on your phone’s map and Acura will be sent directions. The AcuraLink app makes driving more interactive than ever before.
